SKYN - Public Displays of Pride
The Concept
Public Displays of Pride (PDP) is a lighting design project dedicated to celebrating love, inclusivity, and authentic self-expression in public spaces. At its heart, PDP is about neutralizing bias, challenging outdated social norms, and creating environments where intimacy is welcomed and celebrated—whether in private or in public.
The concept is simple but powerful: place pride on a pedestal and bring intimacy back into the light. By using dynamic, expressive lighting, PDP aims to transform ordinary spaces into vibrant showcases of acceptance and connection. The lighting design will feature interactive elements, color-changing displays, and ambient effects that adapt to the energy of the moment, encouraging people to express themselves freely, without inhibition or fear of judgment.
Community engagement is a core part of the project, with the hashtag #PDP inviting everyone to share their experiences and stories. The goal is to foster a sense of belonging—making every individual feel seen, valued, and comfortable in their own skin.
Through thoughtful, creative lighting, PDP aspires to create public environments that are not only visually stunning but also emotionally resonant. Every act of love and pride becomes visible, valued, and celebrated, inspiring others to embrace intimacy and authenticity in their own lives.
CuriousLabs is proud to champion diversity, acceptance, and connection through the transformative power of light.
